STUDENT COUNCIL
|
El Dorado Private School has a vibrant and
enthusiastic Student Council. Students from 5th-8th grade have the
opportunity to serve. Students learn the procedures of Student
Government while they enjoy various exciting projects that help serve
the needs of our school and the community. This year our Student
Council will be working on events such as helping at the Luv Shack
Animal Rescue Shelter, adopting foster children for the holidays,
supporting the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and many others.
Our most popular project involves cooking and serving a hot meal at one
of our local shelters. Events such as bake sales and tile painting at
our annual carnival generate tremendous excitement among our El Dorado
Family. We are happy that this opportunity to display leadership
skills is so sought after by our students. We are very proud of
our Student Council. |

BATTLE OF THE MINDS
|
The fourth and fifth grade
students participate in the Battle of the Minds, a reading
competition. Throughout the year, students read selected
novels. Near the end of each quarter a competition is held as
the teams are put into small groups and questions are asked
about the books read that quarter. The final competition round
in late April includes all the books read in the school year.
Total scores are cumulative for all four competitions. After
the first round, the Liberty Readers are in first place with 67
points. Members of the Liberty Readers are Ashley Kritzstein,
Alexandria Maslowsky, Matthew Peters and Anthony Sominsky.

SAMBURU COMMUNITY SCHOOL PEN PALS
|
In 2008, El Dorado Private School adopted a rural
school, Samburu Community School, in Kenya, Africa. El Dorado Private School
has been sending supplies and money to buy textbooks raised by the Middle School
fundraisers. Our Elementary, Intermediate and Middle School students became pen
pals with the African students. |

SOCIAL COMMITTEE
|
Each semester t he
Middle School Social Committee puts on a special event for the
6th-8th grade students to participate and enjoy. Some events
