My name is Tennaaz Baria.
I am originally from Mumbai, India. I have been teaching at El Dorado for
the last 15 years.
Prior to becoming a
teacher in 1983, I worked in several different fields. I
resigned from my job in the Pan American Airways to
become a stay-at-home mom and raise my child.
However, when my son was ready to go to school at the
age of three, I was more than ready to do the same.
I had already completed my postgraduate degree in
Education after obtaining another degree in Political
Science and World History. I decided to teach High
School at the same Cambridge-based private school my son
would attend. That turned out to be the best decision of
my life! I fell in love with a career that has
become my life’s passion and mission. I taught High
School in India for eight wonderful years.
I was working on my PhD in
Education when I left Bombay for the United
States and have a degree in
paralegal studies after which I interned with the County Attorney. To put it simply, I love
learning and love sharing and imparting that love to my
students. I love every aspect of being involved
with El Dorado's student and parent body. I feel
especially privileged to be able to work with our
Student Council.
