Computers
Mrs.
Maass teaches computer skills to our K-8th grade students. She received both her
Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and her Master’s degree in Educational
Media and Computers from Arizona State University. This is her 9th year teaching
computers at El Dorado Private School.
Her computer classes are structured to develop children’s computer skills and
guide them in effective use of this powerful tool in an educational setting
which promotes exploration and creativity.
To keep up with current technology trends in education, Mrs. Maass regularly
takes continuing education courses and attends computer conferences including
the National Educational Computer Conference and the Microcomputer Educational
Computer Conference at Arizona State University.

Physical Education
This is Dan Drogan’s sixth year as athletic director and Physical Education teacher here at El Dorado Private School. He received his Bachelor of Science (Kinesiology) from Pennsylvania State University in 1999 and received his Arizona Teacher Certification in 2001.
In addition to teaching all PE classes at El Dorado, Dan also coaches fifth
through eight grade students in all after school sports including flag football,
soccer, basketball and softball. For third and fourth grade students, he runs an
after school intramural program that prepares students to play in the after
school program in fifth grade. The sports league that our school participates in
is called the United Spirit League and Dan has been the director of this league
for the last five years.
Some of the new activities that Coach Drogan has developed for PE consist of
rock climbing, yoga, badminton, bocce ball, and fotbag lessons. He is always
looking for new and exciting activities that will encourage the El Dorado
students to participate in while having fun.
Spanish
Hola,
Me llamo señora Zepeda.
I have been the Spanish teacher at El Dorado Private School for the past seven
years, after living and teaching in Guadalajara, Mexico for a full decade. I
love being able to offer students at our school both the culture and the Spanish
language I bring with me. As a mother of four, I fully believe all children
should be so fortunate as to learn a second language.
The Spanish curriculum has brought many positive changes for Kindergarten,
Elementary and Middle School students. Not only has learning increased, but it
has become fun. Some of the pluses include literature, movies and games in
Spanish, practical conversational skills, customs and traditions of our
neighboring country, Mexico, along with basic exercises in vocabulary and
grammar. The overall goal of the program is to motivate students while at the
same time providing them with a positive experience in a second language, which
is so essential in today’s society.
Muchas gracias y adios!
